Mpho Scott holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management (DMS) from Mancosa. He has also completed an economics course at Williams College, USA in conjunction with the University of the Western Cape. Mpho has accomplished MBA essentials from university of Stellenbosch as well course in Advanced Project management, UCT; Business Sustainability Management, University of Cambridge, UK. He is also a member of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership Network. Mr Scott has completed several other business and management courses at institutions in South Africa and abroad.

Mr Scott is an established business executive and holds various Directorships key amongst these are African Legend Investments, Chevron South Africa (formerly Caltex), Emerald Resort and Casino (Pty) Ltd, Modirapula Leisure, Tulavax Group (Pty) Ltd, Sizwe Mining (Pty) Ltd, Avon Peaking Power (Pty) Ltd, Dedisa Peaking Power (Pty) Ltd and Legend Power Solutions (Pty) Ltd. He is also an ex-director of the following listed entities such as Datatec (Pty) Ltd, Wescon (Pty) Ltd and Convergenet (Pty) Ltd.

Mpho was a member of the ANC and played a pivotal role during the struggle for liberation in South Africa. He participated in several study tours on security and intelligence matters in over 32 countries across 5 continents. Mpho was recognised for his contribution to the struggle by being awarded an SANDF medal for his extended service to the military. He was involved in the Convention for a Democratic South Africa (CODESA), a significant chapter in our country’s history. He served as part of the working group looking at levelling the playing field (security issues). Post- democracy Mpho served as a Member of Parliament for 10 years in various capacities – most significantly in the areas of intelligence, defence, state security and home affairs. He was also part of the team that drafted our country’s much lauded and revered Constitution.

In 2003, Mpho left Parliament to enter the business world. In addition to his above-mentioned directorships, he is currently Chairman and CEO of Curadox (Pty) Ltd and Premier Aqua Solutions (Pty) Ltd
